In Pole Position, you drive a racecar and try to beat both the clock and other cars in the race. Galaga is a single-player and multiplayer fixed shooter similar to Galaxian. Galaxian is a shooter game that involves shooting alien swarms in a spaceship. Pac-Man, you must follow a maze, eat biscuits, and outrun ghosts. The games in Namco Museum follow the same classic gameplay styles as their arcade counterparts. Namco Museum features a rating of E for Everyone, which means that it is appropriate for players of all ages. It is not compatible with later PlayStation consoles such as the PSP, PS3, and PS4 or other brands such as Wii U, Xbox, Xbox One, Xbox 360, or 3DS. This product is the PlayStation 2 version and is only playable on PS2 consoles.
Subsequent versions of Namco Museum came out for Windows PCs, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, and Wii. The 2001 PlayStation 2 version was also available for Xbox and Gamecube and included several bonus and hidden games.
In 1999, Namco and Mass Media launched a version of the game for Nintendo N64, Game Boy Advance, and Dreamcast consoles.
